Day Twenty-Four Word Counts

What else has twenty-four? The hours in a day! Imagine all you can do in 24 hours, or all you can write! Have you taken a day just for yourself? This might be a good week to do that. Just have one day where you can really focus and write. We're getting closer to the finish line, keep writing!

1944 for me today and also verified!

6 days to finish the story now. I should be able to tie everything up by then I think.

Today was also very good, and I can use it as a lot to be thankful about. This is my first time in the US during Thanksgiving. So I went after Burrowing Owls today, and I do not have a good track record with owls. Today was no exception as I did not get them. I did have some successes though. I photographed my 300th identified bird (plus more) which was a target for this trip. I also correctly guessed what a bird would be that I came across, although do not know why I came to that conclusion.

I also got an email from someone from the Hawkwatch group, who has asked if I can find a way to join them on a bird trip in San Rafael. I think that I should be able to do it, as I can get an Uber. It will cost a little but I have been quite good on the money front so far as most trips have cost me under 20 bucks, and some less than 5 bucks.

Thank you!

WOOOOO, congratulations! Well done and good luck tying up those loose ends! :)

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you were able to crash someone's meal and partake properly, eating yourself sick on turkey (or tofurky, if you're not a meat eater), mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, green bean casserole, and at least eight kinds of pie, including pumpkin? Yes? It's not a proper Thanksgiving if you haven't gained at least four pounds in two hours, and contemplated vomiting at least once.

Uber isn't too bad, price-wise; hope you made it out there!

Thank you!

No gatecrashing Thanksgiving for me. Going by how kind Americans have been, I think they did not invite me simply because they probably did not want to inflict their family on me. I just had a quick meal at the hotel and did a bigger tip than usual. It was so funny the servers reaction! haha. Probably thought "Eugh, a UK person, he will give me nothing"

Haha, well, that was very nice of you to tip more than usual. Yeah, Thanksgiving is also a time to be thankful that you only see your family a select few times every year. Blargh.

I don't even use the holidays as an excuse to see my family.

Me neither. We had a huge falling out the day my mother was buried, and that was it. My cousin is getting married next year (he's an ER tech at the hospital I work at, so we see each other at work and he fills me in on all of the family BS), and he's already asked me if I'm ~okay with seeing everyone at his wedding. I told him I had no problem seeing everyone, but could he please seat me with at the hospital friends table (full of people I know) instead of with family, and he happily obliged.

Good to have an understanding cousin. I have been to weddings where no family are on the top table, simply to avoid any uncomfortable feelings.
