Short Story Contest :)

There was some interest in my suggestion to turn yesterday's story prompt into a contest, so here goes. Some of the details will be worked out over the next few days, but here is where we are starting.

Write a story 5,000 words or less that starts with these words:

You may add punctuation (quotes to make it dialog, a question mark, that sort of thing) but may not change the words themselves.
Submit your story as a .doc or .rtf file attached to an email and sent to me at rhonda@jofigure.com
Use standard manuscript format ( http://www.shunn.net/format/story.html )
Do not post it in the body of your email.
All submissions should be in by midnight (MST) February 22nd
I will strip all identifying information from the entries and send them out to the judges.
I will not be a judge.

I will round up some judges and a prize or two and post that information as I have it. In the meantime, I hope lots of people give this a shot and have fun with it.
